How do I find what I’m looking for on Teachit Primary?

Using Teachit Primary is a piece of cake. You don’t have to be a computer whizz-kid to get whizzy.

All of the resources can be accessed from the main left hand menu. The ones in pdf format PDF file are available to everyone and can either be printed out or displayed on a computer screen or interactive whiteboard (IWB). Simply register your details with us for full access to the free pdf versions of the resources. The other file types are for members only (more below).

The resource library is organised by key stage and curriculum area, but of course some resources are suitable for more than one key stage or area and so appear in several different places.

To download a resource, simply click on the relevant icon Word document PowerPoint file Publisher document Notebook documentClicker documentPublisher documentor Whizzy file and you’re away!

Look out for the Word document flag icons on the right of some resource titles – these are our favourite resources, so well worth a look!

Important note:

Many of our resources are produced using the recommended Sassoon Primary and Sassoon Infant fonts and work best if you have these installed on your computer. Most schools will have these, so see your ICT administrator if you'd like them for yourself!

What are the benefits of joining Teachit Primary?

Becoming a member allows you to:

  1. Edit the content of the resources in an adaptable Microsoft Office version of the pdf files, and make them your own. You can differentiate, personalise and customise - or even use on screen.

  2. Use the wonderful computer-based Whizzy things. There are ready-made sequencing, matching and cloze activities and fun jigsaw and snap games. Simply select the html or flash versions for an instantly whizzy lesson!

  3. Make your own computer-based lessons using the Whizzy tools. These include fridge magnets and the Syntex and Choptalk jigsaw-makers. No technical know-how is required. Simply enter the text you want to use and the whizzy tools will do the rest.

  4. Put resources and your own annotations into the My Teachit filing system. The green folder icon My Teachit will appear to the right of each resource when you are logged in. Just click on it to add that resource to your My Teachit page. You can then organise the resources into folders and even upload your own files and weblinks.

And where do all these great resources come from?

The answer is: from teachers like yourself!

Active teachers send in resources that they have created, and tried and tested in the classroom. The resources are edited, amended and reformatted by the Teachit Primary team. The resources are then published and made live on the site. And here’s the best bit: teachers receive royalties for their published resources.

Not only that, but we can provide evidence of your contributions to help further your professional development and you have the satisfaction of knowing that other teachers don’t have to spend hours reinventing the wheel.

We hope you enjoy exploring Teachit Primary.
