A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness – reading comprehension

A narrative poem and short narrative (story) with comprehension questions based on the opening page of A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness. Children enter Conor's mind, who suffers from a recurring nightmare, as he faces his fear and eventually overcomes it. There are different types of questions (retrieve, infer, vocabulary, choice of language) based on both the poem and the short narrative. Suggested answers are provided.
