This resource is a fun way to get children thinking about persuasive writing and how language is used to persuade us. Children read through the page from a holiday brochure and underline the words which are used to persuade. It highlights the fact that sometimes what isn't included is often as important was what is included. Children are asked to decide which information the brochure does not give them and discuss why they think that might be. Follow-up activities include a focus on adjectives and rewriting the brochure from a negative perspective. From A&C Black's 'Developings' series.

I really like this activity, it's great for young EAL learners.

Hello Cheryl. I'm afraid these A & C Black resources are provided without the answers but from a quick scan over it the following words are used as adjectives: fabulous, luxury, friendly, family, quieter, tiny, golden, shirt, colourful, unspoilt, wonderful, glorious, relaxing, spacious, stunning, simply, tastefully, warm, friendly. I hope that helps.

I will let you know how this resource worked next week! I am going to use it to teach my year4 class! It looks fantastic, I am going to change the rewrite and save that for an extension because I want the chn to move onto writing a persuasive piece on why their school is "The school of their dreams!"
