What Was It Like? - Gathering evidence

This PowerPoint based on the book What Was It Like? offers the opportunity to explore what it was like for children who were evacuated during the Second World War. Children answer the questions using evidence found in the story as well as their own background knowledge. A follow up activity is included in which children produce a leaflet describing what they think it was like for evacuees during the war.
