Role play/debate/discussion

Using a series of questions to support group work discussion, students explore their own personal language history, from babyhood to the present. They consider learning to speak, read and write, and reflect on their own accent and oracy.

Useful as an introductory activity at the beginning of A-level English Language, as an ice-breaker, or with adaptation for KS3 students.
