Buggy Night – writing activity

Children learn how to write an exclamation sentence in this set of activities inspired by the short animation 'Buggy Night' by Mark Oftedal and Jon Klassen. Children watch the animation, then use it as a stimulus to write their own sentences punctuated with exclamation marks. They then read a diary entry written from the point of view of one of the bugs, and write their own diary entries including exclamation sentences.
A PowerPoint is included with the example diary entry and teacher's notes. Suitable for Y2.
