This thoughtful reading comprehension is based on the Mayan creation myth 'The Hero Twins'. Children are guided through an exploration of the text, working out unfamiliar vocabulary, considering words and phrases they think are effective, and predicting what will happen next in the tale. The story is written in three parts, and questions are interspersed throughout the text.
This resource can be used for independent or paired work. It would also be ideal for a group guided reading activity. It is suitable for KS2.
