Prepare for a fun and lively back and forth with this fantastic starter activity practising number bonds. You have three options for this activity. Firstly is a PowerPoint presentation where numbered tennis balls bounce across the slides and the children have to say which number needs to be added to make the target total of 50.

In the second, more physical, version children can make their own tiny rackets. The teacher chooses a target and then calls out (or pretends to hit) numbers to the children the children 'hit' their numbers back to make the agreed target.

A third version for use in pairs can be played with the included tennis ball cards for numbers to 50. Don't forget, the Word version is editable for you to use your own numbers. A final worksheet can then be used for individual work for number bonds to 100.
