Children working underground – what can you see?

Children examine a nineteenth-century image of Victorian children working in the coalmines, then answer a series of thought-provoking questions about it. This is a brilliant activity to sharpen historical enquiry skills, and to encourage children to compare life in the past to their own lives now.
