Summer reading!

Kick back and relax this summer and dive into a book. I've dipped in and pulled out five of my favourite titles on Teachit Primary with some fantastic activities attached.

Little Bear or Big Bear? Can't You Sleep Little Bear? by Martin Waddell

A super sorting activity to describe the characters but if you can't bear (ha ha) a cutting and sticking activity then for the whole month of August we're making this SMART Notebook activity FREE! Simply drag 'n' drop the words onto the bears. If you like interactive resources and want more, come and join us.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl

The sweetest resource this summer: adverts, newspapers, comprehensions, plus much more

Bill's New Frock by Anne Fine

Eight exciting activities based around a boy who wakes up to find himself in a pretty pink dress! A super resource to discuss gender sterotypes.

Kensuke's Kingdom by Michael Morpurgo

A real summer sizzler – role play, discussions, writing frames and comprehensions based around this island adventure story.

Akimbo and the Elephants by Alexander McCall Smith

A thought-provoking resource for junior children about a boy who tries to saves elephants from the ivory poachers.

A note about fonts

Many of our resources work best if you have Sassoon Primary and Sassoon Infant fonts installed on your computer. Most schools will have these, so see your ICT administrator if you'd like them for yourself!

Where Teachit Primary came from – and where it's headed!

Teachit Primary is brought to you by Teachit.co.uk, the leading website by and for English teachers. We began with a focus on English, but our library now also offers a host of cross-curricular resources.

We are grateful to the consultants and teachers in Warwickshire LA who have helped make our new online library possible.
