Syntex is a really accessible way of playing around with word order and punctuation. Launch the program, type in a sentence and experiment! Explore how speech punctuation works, or investigate how words and clauses can be moved about in a sentence, or added, or taken out ... It's a versatile, visual tool for sentence level work. |
Syntex basics
Drag a tile to a new position in the sentence and it will click into place. You can join tiles together by clicking on the border between tiles, and separate them again by clicking on the little upside down triangle.
Use the menu at the bottom to create new tiles, add colour, or change the initial letter on a tile to upper or lower case.
